    IMPORTANT INFORMATION
    Dear All-Island players,

As you may be aware, we have been trying to implement a new scheduling system at KBTA. Despite our best intentions for a more integrated and user-friendly system, we have discovered that we were a bit premature in making a full-blown change at this time. Please feel free to return to the use of TennisDirector for reserving courts. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve services for you, our players.

    Kind regards,
    KBTA Management

    DEADLINES

The deadline to play each round is included in the email you got and they are also listed at the top of each round on the draw sheets (on the left side for Round Robins).  Deadlines are different for different divisions (depending on size) so make sure you look at the deadlines for each division you are in.

    IMPORTANT DEADLINE INFORMATION
    • In each round, matches must be played by the posted deadline on the draw sheet for that round.
    • If there is an issue playing by the deadline, the draw coordinator must be notified at least 2 days before the deadline.
    • If a match is not played by the deadline and a coordinator extension was not given, then it will go to the default committee to decide who moves on.
    • If a match is being played with a coordinator approved extension and does not get played, then it will go to the default committee.
    • In the situation where both players/teams have a 'bye' in the 1st round then no extensions will be given for your 2nd round match.

    MATCH FORMAT

The 3rd set will be a 10-point super tie-breaker (first to 10 by 2).  If all players agree, a full 3rd set can be played (this should be decided before starting the match).  However, keep in mind time constraints of where you are playing if agreeing to a full 3rd set.

    Tie-Break format:
Tie-Breaks will use the standard format - switch sides after 6 points.  In doubles, if everyone agrees, the Coman Tie-Break (switch sides after the 1st point and every 4 points afterward) can be used.

    REPORTING SCORES

Winners should report match results online as soon as possible after the match.

    DRAW COORDINATORS

Each division has a Draw Coordinator assigned.  Their name and number are listed at the top right of each draw and in the email you receive.  Any questions should be directed to them.

If you experience any problems scheduling your matches, please let your Draw Coordinator know as soon as possible.

Rule 3.4: Coordinators must be notified at least 48 hours before a match if an extension is needed.  See rules for more info.

    Doubles Scheduling Tip

When scheduling a doubles match, partners should talk to each other and come up with days/times they can play and then contact the other team.  The other team should talk to each other about those days and then respond - either choosing one of those days or offering alternatives.

Communication should be as a team avoiding all the back-and-forth emails as one partner says they can, then the other says they can't, etc.

If a team sends an email offering dates/times and you want to email your partner to see it any of those days are good DO NOT use 'Reply All' - send the email to just your partner - the other team does not need to be involved in the emails between teammates and it creates confusion when one partner says they can and then later the other partner says they can't.

We all want to win but remember... Have Fun! and be courteous to each other.
